America has incredible food from sea to shining sea. Check out which places we think everyone should try.

The United States is many things — political experiment, super power, etc. — but among its most pleasurable roles is that of the greatest culinary melting pot the world has ever seen. Thanks to various waves of migration, technology, and innovation, there’s really nothing like the varied and ever changing food scenes of America’s cities.

We’ve been doing a lot of traveling in the U.S. lately, so much so in fact that we’ve barely been back at our home base in LA. And as a result, we’ve been trying loads of new restaurants all over the place. To chronicle the best of these restaurants — and to pass them on as recommendations — I’ve created the map above (if it doesn’t display, switch browsers. Sorry.)

The goal here is to offer one recommendation in a city or region, and to that end I’ll be updating if and when we find something worth recommending. Not every restaurant will make the cut, but those that do will be great.
