Instagram is what you make of it. For many people, it’s a great way to keep up to date with friends and family. But, if you craft your feed well and follow the right people, it can also be a source of inspiration and wanderlust. Here are some of the accounts I follow who, each time I see one of their photos, make me want to hit the road.

Trey Ratcliff

Ratcliff’s feed is explicitly about travel and sometimes features video shot with his drone. His recent photos have documented his exploration of Asia but if you keep scrolling you’ll see images from all over the world.

Thoms is a documenter of what is often called ruin porn: stunning images of abandoned and crumbling places. His photos often beautifully capture nature creeping back into disused human environments.

Passion Passport

Passion Passport describes itself as a “community of travelers, storytellers & photographers inspiring you to travel.”

DGenuario is an another ruin porn photographer, because you can really never have too many images of civilization rusting away in forgotten corners of the world.
