We recently made a quick, one-day trip to Chicago. While we’re excited to see more of the city on future trips, in just one day we managed to take in some truly incredible street performances.

My favorite was a full band that was playing in the Loop.

The band didn’t have much information out, but the guitarist, Ian Walsh, had cards that mentioned his YouTube page.

My second favorite street performer was a man playing The Beatles’ “Come Together” on the corner of Randolph Street and Michigan Avenue.

I’ve always thought one measure of a great city is what kind of street art it encourages. Chicago in particular is great for many reasons, but just in this short visit I was kind of blown away by the amount and quality of music I saw. And now I’m very much looking forward to going back.
