Vines are common in news reporting, but less so it seems in travel writing. Which is a shame, because Vines are so short readers can interact with them quickly — as they might with a still image — but because they’re video they offer a more immersive look at their subject matter. And unlike most video formats — YouTube, Instagram, etc. — Vines autoplay without sound on most sites (including this one.)
